    Repair Details

    PLEASE NOTE: This is supplied as a repair service. You must send us your existing unit for repair. Each repair service includes an extended testing procedure normally valued between $295-$395 at no extra cost.

    • We will cover postage for sending the repaired unit back to you.
    • This is a prompt test and repair service of the customer’s own unit.

      • ALL INSTRUCTIONS WILL BE PROVIDED ON CHECKOUT.

    Critical Information

    This is a test and repair service of the customers own SBC (Sensotronic Brake Control) unit.

    The customer must send the complete SBC / ABS pump assembly for servicing

    IMPORTANT NOTE: Before dismantling, always deactivate the SBC unit following the correct workshop procedure using a suitable Scantool. Failure to do so may result in serious injury!

    Mercedes Benz set a cycle limit or lifespan to the SBC Hydraulic pump fitted to W211 / S211 / R230 Class vehicles. The SBC / ABS module counts braking cycles and after approx 300,000 cycles, an error message appears.

    Some of the error messages displayed in the vehicles instrument cluster are:

    • STOP VEHICLE 
    • REDUCED BRAKING POWER – VISIT WORKSHOP
    • Brake defective, STOP VEHICLE!
    • SBC Control module failure

    When your vehicles SBC pump motor fails you will lose all braking or have reduced braking power. This error is a common issue with Mercedes W211 / S211 / R230 Class vehicles.

    • PEC will fully rebuild your vehicles SBC / ABS Hydraulic Pump Motor and reset C249F fault code.
    • PEC can also supply a Brand New Bosch Accumulator with repair if required ( part no: 0265202070GEN )
    •  Upon installation of repaired unit the workshop must follow the correct Mercedes Benz workshop procedure to re-activate the unit.
